Fins are fine.
^^ And in addition, the bigger bugs that don't totally get disintegrated in the washing process eventually dry up from the heat and become baked ash essentially, so they can come out the next time. I don't worry about the spot free rinse on them

Fins are indeed fine. Mesh I worry about more.

ps. Doing it as frequently as the brakes call for their desqueaking seems to be good interval also for the IC
