MR chrome front grill surround?

sorry for the newb question guys but, ive seen many threads on the chrome grill surround (trim) that comes on the MR and i hate it on mine and really want a black setup. im if-y on painting as im sure it will chip in time.

basically my question is, do we know of any aftermarket options available? weather it be carbon fiber, or black plastic.

and lastly, what about a vinyl wrap? anyone do one yet?

any insight will help and sorry if this is a repost, thanks.

i have a gsr and traded someone for there chrome MR one.. i needed some bling bling.

If you sand it with a super light grit sandpaper or just scuff it with steel wool it should hold the paint on fairly well. I dont think they cost much from the dealer to get the stock GSR one though. Also , there are literally 1000 screws holding that damn bumper together.. just fyi.

Vinyl wrap would work to, and you could even go with the 3M DiNoc Carbon fiber nonsense if you wanted. Wouldn't need much.

That factory trim is like ~150 new from the dealer. Someone makes a C/F but I can't remember who.

i get 20% off on mitusbishi parts directly from the dealer because of where i work. if you work in any shop setting on cars you can get a discount, it's funny how that works... you might want to try that method as it's probably the way i'm going for the front chrome, and the window sill chrome-- as in i'm just going to buy the GSR parts straight from the dealer.

i also want the black hood vents and sides

Thats the crazy part man, im the manager of a VW service dept, and even with my 20% discount it was $245!!

on another note, i had the hood/side vents painted a gloss black, came out great.

Di Noc is cool stuff, but set it next to a real cf part... no comparison.

I'm a GSR owner who wants to trade the black bumper reinforcement cover and black grill surround for the MR's gray and chrome. Are you going to be in the chicagoland area any time soon lol? I'm in the same boat, but jsut can't find a trade locally!

Not cheap, ChargeSpeed has this: http://www.vividracing.com/catalog/c...i-p-53255.html

Got mine after negotiation for a lower price since I purchased other items. Looks good, and I too De-chromed my MR, and will post pics of mine after I install it along with other stuff.
