It is ****ty... was the reality is many cars... even expensive luxury cars rattle. It's happening because manufacturers are cheapening out on insulation between surfaces (amongst other things).

Man that sucks that the interior rattles with the car only having that low of a mileage. I guess I have been fortunate that I have TB exhaust and my cabin makes absolutely no rattling noise, but I have heard it being something common. Have your brother keep taking it back to the dealer and let them fix it once and for all or have a trusted friend drive the car while your brother listens to see where the rattle is coming from and see if it is just a minor fix.

I just sold my 911. It had a couple of rattles as well. It's more than expected in an Evo.

you can always follow my "how-to" on the glovebox. it's funny now that I've taken my 2010 MR apart somewhat it seems that mitsu is putting some foam padding on the christmas tree clips now. I was wondering why when I fixed my glovebox rattle there were no other rattles, except from the cardboard slice in the trunk when I took my tire out. seems like it rattles without a tire in there

Good idea, my wife is big into crafting so I'll have her pick me up some of that felt next time she goes shopping.

In the meantime just removing that air piston attached to the glovebox door cut down on a lot of my rattling. It annoyed me anyway since it made the door open slowly

Ive had rattling problems as well in the back which I didnt hear anything till people rode in the backseats kept telling there is a metallic rattle sound in the trunk. Well it turned out to be the pin that keeps the donut tire came loose. As for the rattle in the glove box, the first day I got the car, i did the glove box rattle fix as well as changing fuel relay and zip tied the fuel press. hose thats on the engine block to avoid minor problems in the future.

I dont want to link a forum post from another forum but they have a stickied forum post as what all evo owner should know and do. We need to make another one here on the general and sticky it.

What exactly is making you nervous? Some simple noises coming from the car? It will only get worse once you put on an exhaust (turbo back even more so). The winter has come and everything will be magnified, every tiny noise, vibration you never noticed before. Just turn up the stereo and drive!
