Looking to buy - what do you think?
Looking to buy a used evo X, its a 2009 with 23000km, my real main concern is the SST box and its reliability, I live in Dubai where temps get high in summer., it seems theres alot of problems with these SST's, here's the add what do you guys think? Some genuine feedback is very welcome good and bad
This car is like NEW inside out with a full service history done by Mitsubishi. It has the SST semi-automatic twin clutch sequential gearbox.
Modifications are very minor. It has an AEM Intake, HKS Legamax cat-back exhaust and mid-pipe, and a custom EcuTek ecu tune for approximately 330-340 hp. Brakes have been upgraded with steel braided brake lines and Performance Friction pads at the front. It has the Rexpeed carbon fog-light deletes for better cooling airflow to the oil cooler, transmission cooler and brakes, and maximum legal window tinting by V-Kool. All original parts are included.

We had a week plus of 105+ degree weather and I had no probles while driving my car.
I personally have had no probles with the SST other than a few minor hickups which only lasted a few seconds (once the car didn't want to engage the reverse gear, placed it in park and then R again and it was fine).
The transmission only seems to overheat on hot track conditions with track driving. People have found two things to minimize/prevent this without modding the car:
1) if you press and hold the trac control button for 3 seconds so it beeps (also know as "OFF OFF" or "Crazy OFF" mode
2) remove the fog lights as this permits better airflow over the trans cooling area.
