Buschur Air Filter Kit Installed

I installed Buschur's air filter kit this afternoon. Essentially, you are purchasing a bracket to hold the MAF sensor. There was some initial guess work involved, as there are no instructions included.

The only install difficultly was a screw holding the factory inlet scoop. I got pissed and just ended up pulling it off; the screw was holding the plastic shroud down with pressure (plastic expanding thing) rather than threading. The screw in question is show in pic #4.

I'm getting the MAF pipe soon, so this is just a temporary setup. There is no noticeable performance gain, however you can hear the turbo spooling and "blow off".

I have my order in for some other Buschur parts including: UICP, LICP, MAF pipe, and their cross-flow exhaust. Additional parts currently awaiting install (sitting in basement) is an AMS FMIC, Work short shifter kit w/ base + cable bushings, and an UR resonated TP.

That isn't a screw, it's a plastic rivet that the screw backs out but pushes in. So it won't "thread", it's pretty wimpy so it might have gotten its plastic damaged if you tried to long to get its "threads to catch". They won't do much of anything going in, the phillips head is so you can back the inside of the rivet that expands "out" and then remove the thing. Installation is just to push the larger outer in first, and then push the inner (with the head) in to lock the rivet.

Removing the intake thing is the easiest way I've found to R&R my drop in filter/box and even to remove the MAF housing for cleaning. Mine's been in/out more than a couple of times, I now have the MAF cleaning process to about 15 minutes, only a 10mm socket and phillips screwdriver required. The engineers were pretty kind to DIY/maintenance.
