Does your X burn oil??

are Xs tend to burn oil and have to put in engine oil often?

How often should we have to check?

Does the check engine light come on if the engine oil is low?

thanks guys.

Mine hasn't between 3k mile changes.. at least not an amount that I can tell, if it does.

Think the owner's manual says you should check fluid levels and tire pressure every time you fill the gas tank.

Not sure, but I'm guessing it doesn't if the oil level is low, but still within the maximum and minimum range. The check engine light will probably come on when your oil is really low and other things start breaking, lol.

I've never added a drop of oil between changes.

If your motor nor head has been built then your turbo is probably burning oil. Valve seals, piston rings, and turbo are the three main possibilities.

Mine burns some oil so I'm going to have the turbo pulled this Winter to have the seals inspected.

Just changed my oil a week ago. About 5500 miles on it, and there wasn't a drop missing, before I drained it.

not a drop during 3k change intervals. I don't baby my Evo either – once I see it's safe to do so, I'll let her loose.

Ditto that. 45000 miles around 5000 mile changes, never low.

No loss of oil here. Oil changes every 3k.

If you're changing your oil prior to 3k miles while not making your engine sweat (RACING) you're changing prematurely. I change my oil at 4k miles even with E85! Oil checks out great even at 4k!

No oil burning. I have had slight issues with oil seeping around the drain plug even with replacing the crush washer with each change. Just enough to get the undercover dirty. I think I'll try nylon instead of metal washer next time.
