15k service...

Hello,

So I'm almost at the 15k mile marker and gonna bring it in for service. Anyone know how much it should run me? Also should I get anything else done while I have it in? Thanks!

15k is oil change, tire rotation, inspection of a bunch of stuff and tranny/transfer case fluid.

I just got mine done a month and half ago and it ran me 190 bucks which included all the oils. not bad =P

30k and 60k are the ***** ones that'll run 400+.

i went and did mine (24,000 km ~ 15K miles) yesterday. they wanted $500 canadian for my MR. they wanted to change all fluids and oil. i looked at the regular maintenance schedule in the manual and all it said was to change engine oil and check everything else. they replaced my air filter but i declined an alignment and cabin filter change. cost $180+tax canadian.

it is reccomended to change all oils/fluids at 24,000km under the severe schedule, but the car's seen only one mild winter in toronto...i should be safe with not replacing the tranny oil right and brake fluids right?

I fail to see the problem with cruise on @ 78MPH... Do you ever use the freeway?

And get over your holier than now self. A quick pic at that speed is no more dangerous than changing a radio station or looking @ a GPS.

I guess that depends on how you drive it. If it is a daily driver that you never beat on then fine. If you flog it then I'd get it done. That's an $8k transmission that cannot be repaired...you have to replace it if anything goes wrong.

Brake fluid should be done at least once per year. Those of us that track our cars do it much more frequently. It's not hard to learn if you want to DIY.

Yeah, DD with spirited drives in sport mode on the way home 3x a week maybe...within the speed limit of course. never tracked. so i think i should be fine with tranny fluid. drive all year round, but had mild winter in toronto.

brkaes once a year? does the manual say that?

I have set the cruise at 100+ for extended periods. What's wrong with that?

And really, that's a poor ASSumption that he's actually got the cruise engaged. Just because it's on, doesn't mean it's controlling. Once you turn cruise on, it stays on unless the ECU is reset.

Had mine done by Evasive Motorsports for $160
15k / 45k - $190

Oil & Filter
Drivetrain Service, not just inspect but replace. (Transmission, Transfer Case, Rear Differential)
Replace Air Filter Element, OEM (I asked them not to replace this because I hard ordered the Cosworth brand)
Inspect Brakes, Belts, Fluids, Air Pressure, Joints, Seals,
Rotate Tires
Top off all fluids

I think South Coast Mitsu charges $239+tax, Tuning Tech does it for $200 OTD, and RRE charges $275 OTD.

edit: according to South Coast Mitsu Dealer, 15k service is normally $358+tax.

wait 'til you see the prices for to 30k and 60k service from the dealership that doesnt offer any 'special' prices...lol.

If some of you are getting the transaxle/transfer case oil serviced for under $200 , can you say what oil are they using? I got the quote from the dealer and it was something like $ 450 most of which being the Diaqueen (from what they told me their cost is several hundred for the fluids which is crazy, not GTR crazy, but close).

They are trying to recommend 15k intervals, though for my daily driver I'll look to do it around 20-25K and ideally use an alternative fluid.
