First Timer, New Here..
What up guys,
Just bought a new-to-me 2008 Apex Silver GSR today, and no more then 4 hours later I am here. I come from the Honda/Acura side of things, had a built and boosted Integra GSR (i think Im partial to that model code
) . Ive been driving a 2006 Nissan Maxima for the past 5 years and just broke down and decided it was time for something more fun to drive.
So I'm trying to get back in the car modding game and jumping in with both feet into this new mitsu world. I've had a lot of success learning EVERYTHING on forums just like this one, so I dont doubt this will be much different.
Enough bs, the car is so new to me, I will def be driving it stock for a few months just to get a feel for it, but after that I know I wont be able to resist the urge so a few questions if you guys dont mind.
1.) Fact or Fiction: The rumor always was (on the 4g63 anyway) you could buy an evo, roll it off the lot, throw a boost controller and double the boost with minimal additions (fmic and bov) and tuning and it would run like a beast. Does this apply to the Evo X aluminum block?
2.) What are the best companies for mods, both visual and performance, for the evolution? One of the biggest mistakes I made was going cheap on a few mods on my integra and I'll never do it again. Do it right the first time
So for fmic's, bov's, cf hood/lip, intakes, exhausts).
I understand its my responsibility to do the leg work, but if you guys could give me a few suggestions as to brands to look at.
Thanks guys.

Answer to question 1 is pretty much yes. While you cannot double the boost haha, you can raise it while adding bolt-on's and having the car tuned. There is plenty of info on these forums regarding this, spend a little time checkin things out when you have a chance.
Answer to question 2 varies by who you ask. There are definitely plenty of companies to choose from in the Evo X market, you'll definitely need to do some research when you do have some time. My choice was AMS, they've been so awesome to work with while we developed this car. The amount of R&D that goes into their products can't be matched anywhere in the Evo world, pretty awesome! Anyways congrats again and enjoy the car
first fact is correct, once the fuel trims are adjusted a little, and some bolt ons are added then the power really shows up...yes the 4b11 is just as good and there is plenty of guy running 350-400 whp as their dd...4b11 is a little new to the market compared to 4g63, so companies are constantly working and making more and more power.....the popular companies are buschur, ams, ets, awdmotorsports and more
Thanks guys, this will be a great place for me to start researching. So much to learn, so little time
First on the list, tint the windows.. its a must.

Thanks again, probably be seeing a lot more of me

Thanks dude
I had a Thermal R&D 3" turboback on my Integra and I loved it, it didnt drone or wasnt loud at all until WOT. I guess Thermal got out of the game or just doesnt make an exhaust for the Evo X. So I managed to find a ungodly exhaust thread on this site already with pictures, videos and descriptions of them all, and Im leaning towards the T1R or Capp(i think it is). The sound seems to be pretty close to stock, and they are both dual exit so it wouldnt appear too far from stock either.
You can't go wrong with AMS or ETS parts. Both companies make excellent products. For the FMIC, I use the AMS FMIC and it has cast endtanks. I would recommend replacing the BOV only when it starts to leak as the stock BPV does a good job at holding boost. Exhausts, make sure its a 3 inch exhaust. You can't really go wrong with any type of exhaust as long as its 3 inch. You would just have to decide for yourself whether you want a single or dual tip and also if you like the sound of the exhaust or not.
