Headlights

Hey fellas,

I might be selling my 370Z and looking to get an X. Question, if I get a base model, can I simply swap out the headlights with the HID version or some other aftermarket version? I've read somewhere that the X's headlights have a leveling system. Are there any challenges or complications with an aftermarket swap?

Waa...$1000!?? Why don't these cars come standard with HIDs. That just baffles me. You're spending over $35K on a new car. Most other manufactures (except Subi....same BS as Mitsu) throw them in on their premium vehicles.

Doubt it's plug and play. Haven't read a post of anyone doing it successfully

Yeah, that's one of my main concerns. I guess if I decide to get an X, I'll just have to fork out the extra $$ for the SSS package to get the HIDs......bummer.

I bought the base model X (non-SSS) and purchased the OEM HID's from another member on here. They are a direct plug and play swap HOWEVER you will have to drive with your lights on 24/7 otherwise the lights will flicker and go out due to lack of voltage. The leveling switch is a direct swap as well.

No problem. You're better off getting the HID's (SSS package) from the start.
