I'm thinking about limiting the amount of clear bra on this car.

Anybody else do a partial install? Just the top of the hood, headlights, and some on the sides?

front bumper, 24" of hood, 12" of fenders, headlights, foglights, side mirrors

altho i don't have a chip yet, i should have done a little bit of the roof from the windshield back, like 18" or something

i opted for the new avery nano fusion over the 3m and venture

I have the standard 3M kit covering the full bumper, partial hood and fenders and side mirrors. Considering how thin our paint is, I would consider that the minimum coverage except the side mirrors. I already got chips on the rear fender and my car is 1 month old.

Same boat... the paint on these cars is atrocious.

24" up the hood, front facia, lights, 12" on the fenders, rocker pannels (A MUST DON'T SKIP THIS) and the bubbled out portion of the rear fender flares also important!

It is wonderful! I've taken sprays of rocks from the **** roads in DC being scrapped up and all the wonderfully good road work done here......

but, the 3m holds up very very well, and helps with dried bug guts, you don't feel bad scrubbing them off.

YOU CAN'T DO THIS SOON ENOUGH. put this on the same day you take ownership of the car. If you're on the fence, get off and do it right away!

paint is measured in microns. get yours measured and you will know the thickness.

I'm sold on the concept, just screwed on the installation quality.

I had a car done a year ago. Paid $1100. Researched my local forums, this company is the best around, they do our local porsche dealership blah blah...

It ended up so so, overall not happy, but honestly I'm super picky. The small irregularities that popped up bugged the crap out of me.

So, that's why I figured I would just do the minimum. If I did the hood and quarter panels I thought I could pull the front plastic off in a few years and just have it repainted?

Did you guys do Kits or Custom? My last install was Custom cut. It's supposed to be better. I didn't like some of the jagged edges of the cut. Maybe I should try to find a kit.. if they make one.

Instead of avoiding clear bra application because of what happened to you before... find a better shop. It's much better to have a thin piece of film on the body of your car than have it covered in stone chips.

Personally... I did the hood... the parts of the bumper where the licence plate would cover... mirrors... the roof between the windshield and the moonroof.. and the section of the rear doors that bulge out... along with just ahead of the rear wheels.

24" up the hood, 12" along the fenders, front bumper, headlights, fog lights, mirrors and the rear doors where they flare. I hate to think what the paint would be like without it!!!

I knew a guy here in Seattle that paid to get his entire car covered in clear bra material, he spent way to much but to his defense he said that five years from now if he pulled it off the paint fade would be even across the whole vehicle. I've seen some bad fade on a friends Blue IX from the clear bra stuff and it's VERY noticeable.

Full hood (already paid for itself with a rock that slid up the hood and hit the window cracking it) full fenders, full bumper and aero kit, side mirrors, headlights, fog lights.

Just got my clear bra put on tonight, turned out perfect!!

I paid almost 75% less than what I paid on my gt500 and this turned out soooo much better... I did hood up to vents, inside of the fender wells all the way around, behind the rear wheel, and the rear door flared section.

It turned out so well I'm having him come back to do the front fenders, and side mirrors.

Anybody have the front part of the roof or front pillars done? Not sure if it's worth it, but was considering having these covered too.
