Generally you treat it like paint. Hot weather is fine, and recommended after install to remove excess water from under the film. No clay bra or colored wax and otherwise care for it like the rest of the car.

I wish I would have had as much of the car covered as is possible.

My suggestion is have as much covered as you can afford.

i was thinking about doing the clear bra. How much will it cost for me to do my full hood and front bumper. majority of my rock chips are on the hood which bugs the crap out of me everytime i clean it. Also is it true that the paint wear (fade) will be uneven if i put the bras on. A friend told me about this. Thanks

You're going to get a wide range of prices. Check around and try to find someone local that has used an installer that they're happy with... for front bumper and front fenders I'd guess you might be around $400 +/- $100.. it's impossible to say how much it's going to cost, but for budget purposes I would have around that much. It's kinda like asking how much are tires going to cost me...

for full front (hood fenders and bumper and aero kit) and mirrors, and rear fenders, and when i say full front i mean all the way to the windshield and doors, i paid 1000$ and that was after military discount and haggling. he wanted 1400$ to start with and i was told that was a reasonable price.

I use to have 2 or 3 names & number's of companies in the DC/Bal area that did this. I think I was gonna go with a guy in Bal charging 800 for a "bottom of the windows down" 3M install. That was months ago though...

Anyone in the Bal/DC/PHL area with recommendations?

I thought about getting a clear bra but I didn't, wish I did. To late now I track my car with no tape or anything the front end is trashed.

I did mine a few wks after I bought my GSR last April! I paid $600 for the 3M Clear bra, hood, mirrors, bumper, and a strip on the top of bumper right below were you might jack up the paint from putting crap in and out of the trunk! IMO it's money well spent! My only complaint is with a white car u can see the dirt, etc in the lines on the edges of the film. It's kind of a pain the rear to keep looking really clean.

I just had Ventureshield installed on my GSR. Did the full hood, full fenders, front bumper, side mirrors, door cups and rear trunk lid. Hood/Fender vents were removed along with side markers and everything was tucked and wrapped as much as possible.

For the basic coverage you should be looking at around $600 or so. I had a guy come to my house and do mine. Check to see if there is a local guy around you that does installs. Prob cheaper than using a full fleged shop.
