lol @ getting under the car to swap your test pipe out for inspection. newsflash, noobs: you can still run a test pipe or HFC and not throw a CEL and not do the O2 sensor spacer trick... and yes you will still pass emissions.

no, I'm not going to tell you how... if you want to break the law, figure it out yourself! :P

while I don't have their product installed on my car (I have an Artisan piece), I am fairly certain that mine utilizes the same catalyst element, which is a very free flowing piece.

There is so many conflicting opinions here it's difficult to get the true jist of things.

I have a TP and it stinks. When coming to a stop or idling in a driveway, it's fairly bad. Others say that a TP has no smell---go figure!

No I don't have an exhaust leak as every single gasket in the system from the head to the tail pipes were changed and all components are fairly new.

My state doesn't perform emissions testing (suckers) so my interest in a HFC is strictly to tame the smell.

Does the AMS or any other HFC actually tame the smell even at idle in a driveway?

I can't speak on the AMS or any others, but just my previous set up. I had the Perrin DP+HFC paired with a Megan Drift-Spec CB which honestly smelled almost as much as my current setup, which is now Map o2 dp and a rexpeed tp with the same catback. Infact, I'll say there really isn't that much of a noticable difference in smell.

Quit being lazy swap it out and put the oem back in for inspection...! Lmao It doesn't take a rocket scientist to do so and it will save you the extra buck. We're in Jersey bro, and last time I checked they really don't give us much of a hassle there. Only cars I've seen getting a hard time for loud exhaust have been hondas around my way, and not even as much. Most of the ones that get a hard time from the boys in blue are the hondas that have 50 different parts/ colors or bucket rusted out.

TRUST ME ON THIS ONE BRO! I have a Greddy Ti-C TBE, there currently isn't(to my knowledge) a mothaflippin exhaust LOUDER than what I currently have. All I've gotten from cops, Detectives, Narc Cars, have been nothing but compliments(weather at a stop sign, traffic light, or parked). When I first installed it and heard it, I immediately thought,"ohh lordy, am I gonna get stopped like a broad stops traffic with a phat booty... smh" That same day and there on after cops have tailed me, but not to ticket me or run my plates, they just wanted to know what kind of car was I driving, price, and look at the interior in amaze like a fat boy in a cheese cake factory.

Don't even stress it homey. I've yet to get a ticket for loud exhaust in Jersey, Nyc, or any other place I've driven my X to.

think about it 100 vs 200 vs 300 is a twice or three times more restricion surface. Which actually doesnt boils down to 2-3 times more restrictive but you get the idea.
The least restrictive design is a 100 cell. But doesnt allow 3 times more power at the same time vs the 300 cell.. It still makes significant % of power difference between them.

test pipe smells period. Why wouldnt? If some one cant smell it , that is his or her problem or gift , pick one.
Even a 100 cell takes away the smell.

I have a MIL.SPEC 100 cell cat. No smell at all! Car puts down the same power as guys with a test-pipe on the former HBSpeed dyno.

I salute your choice to run at least some form of a cat.

Agreed. I can't fathom a reason as to why a test pipe is appropriate on a stock-ish car that driven by an individual who respects other humans.

LMFAO...! Little does anyone obviously know that a single cow or horse's manure produces more polution than, I believe 2 or more vehicles. I guess we should put a cat on each of their asses too... Also "humans" and a shiet load of them "SMOKE" cigarettes, cigars, crack pipes, hooka, and what ever else either... Lmao... OP if you're not planning on going with a bigger turbo an HFC is not of a bad bet.

There is a distinction between greenhouse gas versus pollution. If you want to know the difference right away, ride a motorcycle at rush hour in San Bernadino County, CA. 10x worse than LA even! You will get sick from the fumes. No joke.

I'm not saying we should all drive hybrids, but if someone has to give up 5hp so that the rest of us can breathe, I'm for it.

At the racetrack, do whatever floats your boat!
