Fake Evo X...Can they do that?
if you think about it Mitsubishi has to have a deal worked out with Proton. i'm sure Mitsu is seeing a decent precentage of the sales from these cars. gotta make the money some way or another. and remember what you might think looks great others may not see it that way. hence why the automarket is so different in every country, the states with its safety stuff etc
Imitation is the greatest form of Flattery
Seems Proton has taken aliken to the EVO but like almost all imitations ruined it: http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/news/au...4c257ad0854757
At least Mitsu didn't give them the full 4B11T engine but do not NO about SAWD.

Now that you mention it....
This is my problem with the X in general. All of the X models look the same-- there's just not enough variation in the aesthetic between the high-end and low-end models.
Back in 2003 when the Lancer was the ugliest thing around, there was no mistaking it for the Evo. Now with the 2008 and on cars, they all look the same and there's nothing significant to distinguish the Evo from base Lancers.
Mitsu is clearly more interested in selling a ton of lower end cars by making them all look as good as an Evo but to me they're just just cheapening the Evo. I realize that you're really spending the money for performance upgrades but its going to sting a bit when a Lancer drives by you in your Evo X and your girl says "Hey, it's your car!"

What I see are massively improved base models that just look great. That isn't cheapening the Evo at all.
My "girl" aka wife can tell a Lancer GTS from an Evo. If yours can't, maybe you should teach her about cars instead of hating on the Internet.
