Hood vent paint peeling

Anyone ever experienced this? only 27K miles and just noticed after a trip to the snow. I assume this is covered under bumper to bumper?

That sucks man. A few things you can do. Replace it with the factory part - replace it with CF or paint it. The paint is quite a bit notorious when it comes to chipping off. They used a pos paint. I spray painted the hood vent scoops black, was gonna do the fenders as well as the V scoop but decided to replace them with CF in the near future.

As for warranty covering it, I am not quite sure what to say but my crappy knowledge of it would say "NO". You can always try thou

yea..I know the paint was supposed to be bad but not this bad. Strangely, its just the vent and not the hood. The color never did quite match.. hows the Rexspeed CF OEM style hood vent?

A damn squirrel decided to drop some nuts on my hood and the paint got knocked off... Which yea, i learned my lesson as I do not get near damn trees anymore.. As for the CF hood scoops, I mislead you saying i replaced them. Sorry about that. A bit sleepy, watching the eclipse as I wait for the damn DLC for NFS Hot Pursuit lol. I didnt paint the fenders nor the V because I will be replacing them with CF, I am just torn between rexspeed or seibon. Ive been suggested both and I have no clue which one is better lol. Since both are CF, the look is pretty much the same but which one has more durability is the question...

Back to the topic lol, just call your dealer tomorrow and see if they can do anything about it. It really wont hurt you asking them if they can, if they cannot do it under warranty you can go on from there. I believe that is something your insurance will cover and not the warranty. The warranty is more for technical problems than cosmetic stuff. Like taillights going out due to wiring or fast key not working.

Go to the dealership and try to get them to warranty it. If mine ever starts to peel or chip I'll be raising hell until it's covered.

Shouldn't have any issues with warranty as it's obviously a paint defect as they can't pin that on rock chips. The plastic parts are painted separately from the body which is why the paint may not match perfectly.

This...

I don't think you'll have any issues getting this covered under warranty. It's the big things sucks at. (transmissions, engines, etc). My dealer replaced my VIII calipers for peeling and my wing for corroding. GL

Called corporate and they said it should be covered under warranty. So I should just have to get a service adviser to take pics and start the warranty claim process.
