tire pressure sensor issue

As it has been getting cold out, my sensors are acting like the tires are low on air but they are completely full. Obviously the cold is affecting the sensors but any idea why? Once the day warms up the warning light goes away. Its like once it hits below 40 degrees they say low pressure. Anyone else get this?

The temperature changes your tire pressure. I'm guessing since you live in Failorida you don't get too many ice cold days.

right but it doesnt lower it to the point where the sensor thinks you have a flat. my sensor typically doesnt go off until under 20psi. i dont see how the cold drops it that much.

I actually had the same problem last week. Temps were really low and my sensors went off. I went to fill the tires to 32psi and they were fine. Then just two days ago I went to get an oil change and told the guy to check my pressure just to make sure. He said all my tires were above 40psi...I guess the low temperature does make a huge difference especially if your tires were below 30 to begin with. Make sure you dont over do it and check it again when its not to cold outside to get a better measurement.

The TPMS works based on relational data between the other tires. Fill them all to the same pressure. And the cold weather does make a significant enough drop to set off the TPMS.. mine does it all the time in the winter (especially below 10F), but never in the summer.

I haven't gotten any TPMS warnings in the Evo, but the Lexus TPMS goes crazy in cold weather.

Checking/setting tire pressure isn't hard. I do my Evo and my wife's WRX every week or two. An accurate gauge is a great purchase.

I'm just over 1,000 miles on the clock and my TP warning light came on the other day immediately after I used a wheel brush and some warm water to remove all the brake dust on my wheels. I bought my car in the dead cold of January (it was 20 degrees the night I drove off the lot) but here it was 55 degrees (and raining) and the warning light came on for the first time. No need to explain the ideal gas law, pv = nRt, knew it before I had my license. I'm thinking crappy PA roads and what was a slightly loose valve stem had some impact.

I do need to invest in a good pressure gauge, but my concern here is whether or not the cleaning of the wheels may have affected one or more of the sensors? Any thoughts? I hate staring at a giant exclamation point every time I glimpse at the dash....

Mine comes on saying my pressure is low, but I never think twice about it because it always goes away within 20 minutes. I never thought it was a problem though. Just weather messin around.

i have to change the pressure in my tires every 3-4 days, basically every time i stop for gas

is this normal? i mean i could probably go longer without real problems, but i've noticed that they do need it every time i check
