Change seats from X to IX?

hi guys.

i currently drive a 2010 evo x and while i love the seats, i do find them a bit too aggressive for everyday driving so i have been toying with the idea of trading them for a set of evo IX seats (i had an EVO 8 before and the seats were the best seats i have ever sat in especially for a daily driver).

thoughts? will this even work?

I dont see why not. Worst case you're going to need to fab up custom rails and do something about the Airbag sensor

If you're looking for a direct swap you could find a Ralliart guy and trade for his seats + cash from him.

naha, i don't like the regular lancer seats. the reason i liked the evo 8/9 seats is because they were aggressive enough in the upper body while the bottom part still allowed you to be comfortable during a casual drive.

Rumor has it you can widen the bottom bolsters if they're too tight on you. I've never tried, just heard a guy talking about it.

You're looking at quite a project. You'll need to put resistors in the SRS connectors since you won't have side airbags anymore, mount the passenger weight sensors somehow, and you should note that the X seats don't have a real base (it's 4 small pieces).

See when I sat in the X seats I thought they were less aggressive than my 8 seats. I do like the style of the X seats though.

I think the 8 seats are perfect as well. I'm 5'10 and 160lbs so I fit in them perfect. Plus it suits my driving position and the way I sit my legs in the seat perfectly as well.
