Quote: What does a minor exhaust leak look/feel like? This is a serious question, not trying to burn ya.
As soon as I started the car I could tell it didn't sound right.. kinda of like an underlying high pitched ticking sound. I found it by feeling around the flanges, you could feel (very slightly) air coming out. A little trick I've heard of on people working on motorcycles is to light up a cigar and blow the smoke on your exhaust to find a leak (make sure you're not leaking anything flammable.

Oh and what is the best way to test for that? I have tried the plug the tips with your hands and see if you hear it thing, and i think i am good. Just want to get some more knowledge to make sure. Thanks!
see above, but I'd try to feel for it, or try smoke, or I guess you could pick up a stethoscope.

Quote: Is it backwards like front to rear, or does it need to be rotated?
front to rear, and rotated both.

Quote: lol thts crazy that it even fit backwards
actually it fits every way possible, front to back, rotated left or right...meaning it can go in backwards and once backwards it will fit if you rotate it left or right. Actually, I'm surprised this doesn't happen more often. I just figured I would install it by matching up the 02 sensor location....which was backwards (front to back), and rotated (left to right).

Anyway, it fits perfect now... the correct way, lol.. and no problems, everything is 100%. Very happy, sounds great, looks perfect underneath and tips centered,.... the bend in their test pipe allows for space to clear the axle. I'm guessing the way I had it is how most straight test pipes would fit.... very near the axle.

Here's the pictures you asked for, thanks for your quick response last night Michael:

This first pic shows the clearance the best.............

You're not the first to do this. I have seen at least one other thread where someone posted about clearance issues and it turned out their TP was installed backwards. I have also seen exhaust midpipes installed backwards.

It's got 15 miles on it, still with window sticker and plastic on the seats.... modding away early.... basically right away .... the exterior was clay barred and waxed, touched up the underneath where the paint was missing and rust on the welds....

A guy at work is buying my daily driver for his wife. She didn't want it until after the new year for tax reasons. Worked perfect for me... allows me to work on this while I still have my old ride.

No... just picked up some anti rust black paint at the hardware store... the chassis had some larger sections of paint missing.. looks like it is just part of the basic assembly process. I'm sure it's impossible to put a car together and ship it overseas without chipping a little paint here and there. The welds had some rust too. I just touched everything up, took 30 minutes.

Can you explain this a little more? Where and how did you paint?

No, I'm not using the car right now. I will,... still have my old car for the next couple weeks.

Not much to say about the paint. Basically, I was under the car to swap exhaust and noticed section (thumbnail size) where the paint was chipped off, and on most of the welds they had small spots of rust. I went to the hardware store and picked up a tiny container of satin black rustoliem (sp) for $5 and $2 cheap pencil size paint brush. Crawled under the car and spent 30-45 min covering up the exposed metal and rust on the welds.
