On the Hunt for an EVO
If the dealer isin't willing to negotiate, then walk away. I payed 23.5 + ttl, and had about 38k on the odometer. GSR + SSS, no nav or aero. Also, try to avoid modded Evos, you never really know if they were beat on.
I own a 05 STi and love it. Have had it for six years. Feel it is a great all round car. You are on a EVO forum so don't expect to get pursuaded to buy a STi... They are both good cars. They both have pros and cons so just look into it and decide what you want to do. Good luck and know you are getting a fun as heck car regardless!
You should just buy my Evo with 425whp with a brand new Exedy Twin HD clutch
. Only 15,2xx miles... more info can be found here... https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sa...-clean-ix.html Let me know if you have any interest.

My evo has 40k on stock clutch and grabs like new as well. It's all about how you drive and take care of them... Mine is for sale too, only because of school.. Link is in my signature.
So guys, I've been on the hunt for an EVO (or STI) for 30k OTD. I haven't driven an STI yet, but I must tell you, the test drive of the EVO absolutely blew my socks off!! I was in LOVE. Anyone know how the STI will compare? Today, I went to test drive this one: http://www.arenamotorgroup.com/web/v...imore-Maryland The car drove amazing, dealer was only willing to give me 500 off the listed price. The car had an intake, a boost gauge (aftermarket), and you could tell there was some modding done. It also had a body kit. I turned it down because I figured it was probably abused. Then there is this one, dealer is willing to take 1200 off the price! http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail...5&aff=national And lastly, this one has a little mileage, and this is my first mitsubishi so I don't know how well they hold up. But what do you guys think? http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail...5&aff=national Last bit of info, I have 140k miles on a stock clutch (2005 Acura RSX Type S). What can I expect out of an EVO X?
. I heard alot of good things about the Evo's reliability I mean if they really sucked you would see alot of consumer's complain about this issue and also one thing you need to know if you have a mod addiction is that Mitsu is cracking down and voiding warrantys on em since alot of people are abusing these cars and turning them over and having mitsu warranty these abused cars. Just FYI, I dont know how STI does their warranty I would find out. Good luck
Yeah man...don;t let the clutch concern you much. I remember looking at these forums before I bought my first Evo back in 03'. I almost DIDN'T buy it because I kept seeing posts about the clutch and also a few on 2nd/3rd gear grinding. I had my first evo for 6 years, and the clutch seriously felt as fresh as the first day. The transmission (which I DID have a 2nd gear grinding issue), also felt great...
I'm really glad that I didn;t let the clutch concern me...I loved every minute of driving that car. My biggest complaint would have to have been it's turning radius (which is the same for my new Evo X). Why they didn't allow the steering wheel to turn more, I'll never know...
My other concern for you: Neither car is nearly as cheap as your RSX to drive. Make sure you have some extra cash to cover gas/oil/other maintenence for the 25-30k miles that you seem to drive yearly...
