My Christmas Eve curse and luck

I need to talk about it, its annoying and lucky all at the same time.

First some history. Last XMas eve, i came out to find my only car(Celica) at the time had been smacked in behind the wheel well. With the age, of the car, i could deal, but not with the fact that the giant dent pushed in part of the wheel well, meaning if i hit the wrong bump, it could hit the tire. Luckied out when i called my mechanic and told him about it, referred me to their sister bodyshop. Call them, and stop by. He pulled on it and hammered it and said "No charge." Big relief and thanks. I could live with the cosmestic amage from that point.

Advance one year to today. Was thinking about working on the celica, but decided i should wait for some parts. So decided I should hit up Lowes for some tools and other stuff and I could do my Rally Armor mudflaps today, not too cold. Go and come back, good trip.

Well, decide to clean off the wheel wells of salt before i put them on. So i rinse it out. Then i start taking off my fender clips for the install. Some were a big pain and decided to destroy them to get them out. Well after getting an annoying clip out, I hear a sound .......hisssssssss

That's right, I have a nail, near the inside edge of my tires. Just bought them slightly used off a member here, for a good price considering. Call a couple of places, either closed or too busy. Third place is a Mr.Tire, said they could help.

After getting there and waiting, they tell me what i feared, it was too close to the edge and with being a runflat, probably not much luck either. So i'm like ****, thinking of putting on the spare, and just going home. Though I decide to go ahead and order a tire. Well come to find out, they had 1 of those tires in stock, only ONE. So I get lucky again, though this time around it wasn't as cheap.

I'm pretty sure with have less than like 3K on the tires, a new tire shouldn't hurt. I know they should all be the same, but this early on, I think i'm probably safe. Though I plan on checking the tread depth soon, just to see.

Got home, lost most of the light and couldn't finish getting even one mudflap on, too dark. Oh well.

Next year, both my cars will be off the street, and i'm not driving ANYWHERE.

So I have a curse followed by some good luck. Feels so much better just writing that **** out. Now to wrap some presents and hit the sack.

P.S.:Another customer found an IPod Touch at the Mr.Tire, and I did the detective work to get it back to him before I left and they closed.

good karma with the ipod return. I had to destroy one of my fendor clips too. It's the one that you have to remove with a phillips screw driver. I never understood why they can't just put a regular clip instead.
