This CT blizzard cant stop the Evo

So we are literally in the middle of a blizzard here in CT. I have never seen the roads like this. People stuck all over the highway especially trying to get off the exits (where the plow made the snow a cpl feet high). My baby trucked along with no hickups. Its amazing what all season tires (toyo proxes) and an evo can do.

God i love this car

If you get one in deep snow on real snow tires they are almost unstoppable!

I am dying to pull my evo out and see how she goes... I moved her around the driveway a bit and it goes no problem. ...I'm not gonna take the chance having to stop though with high performance summer tires though. I'll have fun in my MazdaSPEED though. lol

Good idea, its not the "go" part.... its the "stop" part you have to worry about....

haha nah i do. i came from a 08 lancer gts with snow tires to a 2010 evo x...through my experience, the evo with summer tires is doin 5times better than the gts with winters. yes its my first time with awd as well. and relax, got my snow tires ordered , so ill experience the full potential of evo in the snow

Your still home? And yea, i wish i still had my snowmobile last night too. Ive never seen the roads that bad. Would have been great to be ripping my f1000 down the highway doin 100+mph lol.

When my buddy first had his evo (IX) with his Advans, he couldnt even back DOWN my driveway lol. It would just slide off the side and then not move. He put Blizzaks(spelling?) on there, and the car is unstoppable in the snow.

Good to know that I will be able to get around when/if it does snow.......

I cant believe people actually are attempting to drive around on summer tires. I know winter tires are not cheap but if you had read the post about the guy who wrecked his car driving in a parking lot on oem tires you would realize your messing with danger. I drove in the snow yesterday with all-seasons and still had to be careful with braking and cornering. I guess if you want to drive 5mph like the old people yesterday and still be slipping and sliding thats up to you. But when you slide into a curb or another car the money saved not buying winter tires is not worth it. Yea you can use insurance but winter tires will last a couple winters so in the long run its a pretty good investment.
