All you have to do is rock the car back and forth a few times and it'll break loose. Very common in vehicles with drum brakes, cold temps with higher humidity.

It has happened to me a few times due to the cold weather and snow. It usually will move after I let it warm up and sorta drop the clutch then I will hear a loud pop coming from the rear brakes and the car moves. Most likely the E-brake being frozen.

When I see threads like this, I can't imagine cars being "frozen"? Maybe because I live in so cal and its always warm. Today it was 80 degrees. How cold does it have to get for a car to "freeze" and not move? 40? 30? 20?

Mine did it when it was 14 and had 6 inches of snow on the ground. Last week in Texas sucked.

I try to avoid the parking brake in the cold at all costs, especially when there's snow or rain on the ground and the water gets into the parts (or when I wash the car I clean the rims and gets the brakes wet) then it freezes and I hear the pop, I've only heard it 2 or 3 times but then again I don't think I have used the p-brake since then. I normally take the key out and let the turbo timer shut if off after 10-30 seconds but instead I'll manually turn it off and just put it in 2nd gear to act as the parking brake, of course if it's on any kind of incline then I use both...
