shifting into reverse problem

I am having a problem when shifting into reverse. It's been happening for a month or so, but it is really getting bad. When I depress the clutch all the way to the floor and try to put it into reverse it just won't go unless you use some extreme force to slam it in and it doesn't sound pretty. Now, if you try with the car off it seems to work fine. When the car is on and you try to go into reverse it will go easily when you turn it off at the point where it gets stuck. It's like trying to shift into reverse with the clutch not even pressed in. To add to my problem the car will move a little when shifting into reverse or first. The clutch is all the way to the floor each time and the free play is correct. I am sure that the clutch is fully released also. My reservoir is full too. I get the same problem sometimes when trying to shift into first too. The car will move a little and it just doesn't sound right.

Maybe I don't have enough tranny fluid or something. I should have enough because the dealer did my clutch change. I have a clutchmaster stage 3 in there and it was flawless with shifting into every gear once I got it back. This was quite a few months and miles ago.

I have the stock clutch setup and I've been noticing this occasionally at start up during the winter. If i let the car warm up enough it seems to go in every time.

put it back to neutral, release the clutch, then try reverse again.

Just contact your dealership about this TSB, I'm currently having problems with reverse engaging as well and will be having my vehicle serviced for this.

Thanks for the info dude. I will bring it in monday definitely now. I am still going to change my tranny fluid out to some better fluid anyway though. I have heard lots of good things on the BF Syncroshift. Guess in the meantime I will have to turn the car off, put her in reverse, then turn it back on .

Did you get this TSB in the mail?

This clutch has only 5000 miles on it. It has only been lauched on three times with little slipping. Other then that it only has normal take off and go launching. My tranny didn't do this when the stock clutch was gone either.

have you tried that? I've ran into that problem like twice, and by doing it again, it's fixed.

I think we should have a section on this forum, with all the posted TSB's.

This doesn't work for me either. I just have to turn the car off to get it in or risk hearing those nasty noises the tranny makes when I force it in gear.
