Does anyone know what dB our stock horn is?

 

If you can wait a while, I could measure one. Everyone's cars are put away for the winter around here.

 

So you just used the stock wiring? I'm thinking about replacing mine, but don't want to have to run wires and relays.

 

I respectfully submit that the car should be available for winter enjoyment. But its OK.

well this is how the evo horn works

aftermarket exaust +bov+ clutch+ redline = horn

 

ya .. holla horns are about 60$ ish
there normally bulton very eazy to install,

 

Did you really install a Honda Accord horn on your evo? I might look into installing a honda accord horn. I had an accord years ago and the horn sounded better than the squeaky evo X horn.

I'll also check out the other horns people posted.

Hopefully I'll get something installed soon. In the mean time, I'll just rev the engine instead of using the horn.

When you start paying for people's cars, you can expose them to salt.

 

Have a look at PIAA horns, as well. They're small and fit almost anywhere. Amazon offers good pricing.

I installed hella horns.....much better!

 

As a point of interest, I weighted a stock horn from a IX and the Hella (600Hz) I installed to replace it. The difference was almost 1.5lbs.

 

I believe our horns are 30A so a relay wouldn't be needed. Can anyone verify?
