I was thinking about getting Hella horns... but don't they sound a bit high pitched? No doubt they are LOUD tho.

So you are messing up the handling and throwing off the weight balance by installing Hella Horns! lol <joking>

It's essentially a German truck horn. It's not as loud as some of the alternatives, but it can hardly be called quiet. I got it, because I live near a medical complex. I don't know how many times some clueless soul almost hit my car. Leaning on the stock horn didn't make them any more aware; the sound kind of blended with traffic. No such problems since the Hella.

All this said, the Cadillac horn (posted earlier) is one hell of a thing! Maybe something else to look into. Good luck.

Depends on the frequency you choose. I chose a higher tone, congruent with the second lowest octave in the midrange (as a reference), because I wanted the horn to be instantly recognized in traffic. Lower frequencies can be had, as well. If the X has 2 horns like the CT9A, and I think that it does, one can use a low-frequency horn and a higher-frequency horn to get an effect similar to the Cadillac horn.

Seriously, for some folks this may be a real constraint. The weight sits right in front of the car, really not great, and it's 3lbs (2 horns) that weren't there before. I know I debated long and hard about performance/weight of an upgraded FMIC.
