How To: Lock/Unlock chime disable/enable

Anybody know how to make the horn sound when you hit the lock/unlock button on the fast key? It says in the manul that you have to press the LOCK button (1) for 4 to 10 seconds and press the UNLOCK button (2) during this time. Then release in sequence the UNLOCK and LOCK buttons within 10 seconds of pressing the UNLOCK button in step 1. Thing is, i've been trying this for the past 15 minutes, and its not working. It says that each time the horn answerback function is set, a chime will sound to tell you the condition of the answerback function. One chime means the horn wont sound, two chimes means the horn will sound, four chimes means the horn will sound if the LOCK button is pressed twice quickly. Help me out here?

This is how I did it:

1. Press first button, count to 6.
2. Press second button, count to 3.
3. Release [whatever] button, count to 3.
4. Release [whatever] button.

That ensures you give the remote/sensors enough time to register and such.
(And the chime is pretty faint, you have to be either inside your car or close to it with no background noise to hear it).

if you have the nav u can go into settings and change it from there among other things like the turn signal length , windshield wipers timing etc.

Is there a way to change that w/o the Nav?

Only thing I found in the manual was the info about the lock/unlock tones.

I believe he meant the turn signal length, wiper timing, etc.

If you don't have the Nav system, the manual says you can take it to a Mitsu dealer and they can mess with those for you.

Yeah that's what I meant... sucks that I have to take it into a dealer. Could've gone with the nav package but why! Why do I have to be poor!!

My MR EDM when locked, beeps 6-10 times, 1 time/s but it is a really light beep.
It's more or less the same sound that you hear when you leave the car on and close the driver door with the Fkey outside the car, but the beep is lighter and with lower frequence.
You can't hear the sound during day on public road...
