450HP Goal!

I want 450+ HP (why not right?)

I think Im gonna need some help on this one.

Deal is Im a contractor in Afghanistan on a 18 month contract 6 months complete I will return in Jan of 2012 for good (hopefully)

I am going to buy a 2010-2012 EVO GSR when I get back New or used I have not decided yet. And ofcorse the 2012 depends on if they are making them and the platform is the same!.

Here is the deal I want to go ahead and start ordering parts.

Clearly I will need Intake and exhaust those are easy.

To make it to my magic number what else will I need? Can I make it on stock turbo?

Stock IC or upgrade?

What gauges and other electronics should I have, wideband, EGT, and boost gauge/controller are on the list.

Cobb access port? or ECU flash?

Money is not really an issue but I'd rather not spend more than I have to!

Lets say I've got a 7500-10k budget for parts/labor.

And if anybody knows some tuner shops around San Antonio that can do some if not all of the work for me with out burning a big hole in my budget.

If nothing worth a damn in San Antonio, then Austin, Houston, or Dallas(would rather not go all the way up there.

Thanks in advance guys Hope to see yall on the road soon!

you could get close to it with e85 and stock turbo in dynojet numbers, if that's acceptable to you. otherwise you really can't make anywhere near that on stock turbo.

Good stuff, good this is the kinda things I want to know about

Works has a turbo kit coming out soon. Shows good for 475-550

Seems to be a decent price too. AMS turbo kits hurt the wallet lol

Copy my setup?

(rough prices)
Magnaflow Catback w/ modded 3" inlet $500
Megan Testpipe $125
MAP O2 elim downpipe $400
CBRD BBX (or BBX Lite) turbo $1800
MAP tubular exhaust manifold $850
aFe stage2 intake $250
perrin inlet $100
UICP of some type (Nisei or whatever suits you) $200
Buschur FMIC (also recommend CBRD's and the Perrin) $800
Deatschwerks 800cc injectors $350

Find a good ecuflash tuner and you're set! Cobb OTS maps work too.

Next acknowlege that there's more to modding than just power, add in some extras:
-Eibach springs
-Whiteline rear sway
-AMS Shifter bushings
-AMS Front motor mount insert

Install as much as you can by yourself and then pay for the rest to get installed by someone you trust! Spend the change on a clutch, brake pads, and having fun with the car: drag racing, autoX, or big track fun!

Guess for another question, I got a few e85 pumps right by the house.

What is required for me to use it?

Fuel pump? 800-1000cc injectors? fuel lines? fuel rail? FPR? and ofcorse a tune.
Slap me if I'm missing something

just injectors and fuel pump and a couple e85 safe lines (the one underhood line that feeds the fuel rail should have an inline filter in it).

Check out my Sig. I am in around 10K. I made these numbers on a very conservative dyno on 91 octane. Plus I have a lot of room to grow. Stock turbo wont even come close to 450 whp.

if i'm not mistaking i think the stock turbo will only get you 325-350 awhp max, so you're still way off your goal. i say FP RED that sob and you should be able to get 450

send ur turbo in and get a fp red for fuel get atleast a 255 or a double pumper with e85

for e85 do id 1000s or 2000s because they can run higher fuel pressures to get around 1500cc out of the 1000s which you will need around 1200 on e85

full turbo back exhaust or a cut out depending on how loud you like for a daily

keep stock intercooler get at least upper intercooler pipe or both and def big intake and filter

get a stock ecu tune but with speed density , maf will only cause problems when you may develop boost leaks. do it right because its the most important part in having a solid car

right around 4k-4500 for all new parts you can get good condition used parts and save money also

You could always use our turbo kit package but instead of the green you could upgrade to the FP red or Black

If you would like information or insight on anything that we offer, please let me know!

I have various builds with our different turbos, manifolds etc..

We always try to make sure our clients are making steps forward and not pairing the wrong products (whether they are ours or someone elses)...

Cheers

I should be getting like 375 on stock turbo after my next couple mods. No E85 no porting.

You definately want the ecu reflashed. Cost is lower and you dont have to buy anything except for the cable.

Any thoughts of which route you might go yet to reach your goal?

Ok After lots of shopping around, talking to people and what not I think I have a plan mapped out. Heres what I got so far

-ETS quiet catback (I like the idea of AMS Twin tip catback but it seems they don't make/sell it anymore would love to be able to change my loudness when I felt like being a jacka$$)

-ETS Test pipe

-ETS 4" FMIC Kit (piping and all)

- KN drop in filter (for now)

-Deatschwerks 1000cc Fuel Injectors

-Walbro EVO 255 Fuel pump

-AMS FPR kit with AMS fuel Rail

-AEM wideband UEGO

-Greddy Profec B-Spec 2 Boost Controller

-Cobb AP ( Might do the whole ECU flash thing but that'd be later down the road)

-Custom tune on E85

I know this wont get me 450 but Its a start.. This all to be done just after break in.

Future Mods will most likely include

-T3 turbo kit
-Pistons, rods, cams etc...
