I can confirm this, I attempted to help him install it.

I just installed my Seibon hood yesterday... fits amazing, only a little gap on one side, otherwise great product.

Then show a pic of the Seibon hood not a pic of the factory hood please.

^^^ lulz

seibon's stuff is a hit or miss. thankfully for me it's been mostly hit. i do have my share of misses, though. like the others said, if you ever complain, they'll treat you like a n00b and basically tell you to f**k off because their made-in-china-by-underage-kids products are soooooooooooo gooooooooooooood...a giraffe can make better parts.

as for rexpeed, same story. a good number of misses from my camp, though. only had a handful of things from rexpeed that actually fit, and most of them i had to complain and modify the hell out of to get anything close to fitting, and most of the time i end up just selling it because i was so thoroughly pissed off. likewise, rexpeed accepts no refunds, and also demands you fix it yourself before rexpeed even considers sending you a replacement.

there's no crime in buying from them, really, but just know what to expect.

Looks are deceiving aren't they? Looks like the OEM hood... It's my Seibon hood painted.

Thats a metal hood. But good try. Carbon fiber doesnt bend like aluminum can.

Of course why.... would you take off a light weight aluminum hood... to replace it with a heavier weight carbon fiber hood? only to paint it over?

There are people all over these fourms that have shown that the Carbon Fiber weighs more.

But please prove me wrong and open the hood and take a pic of the underside.

Also I can see the factory heatshield thru your hood turbo inlet vent.

I call BS until you post more pics as proof. I highly doubt the OEM vents and scoop fit that perfectly in a carbon fiber hood.

actually, i'd buy that argument. that's a GTS, not an evo, nor a ralliart. don't forget GTS has a ventless hood. if he was going for the vents and nothing else, then seibon's route would be cheaper than the oem aluminum hood. ricey, in my humble opinion, but whatever floats your boat.

do indulge the rest of us though and get some pics of the bottom of the hood.

Lmao at ALL of this, is all I can really say. It's a CF hood, but nice try. But one thing I will not lol at is yes, I do agree that the CF hood weights a whopping 1lb more than the aluminum, but what about my OEM GTS Steel hood?

The vents and scoop aren't OEM, they come with the hood, they're carbon fiber as well, the whole thing is.

Thank you for not calling bull**** on me, as you are correct, this is a GTS lancer. However, the vents and the scoop are fully functional, just the same as they are in an Evolution hood, it's the same design. Aluminum hood in Canada = $2000 with vents and scoop, Seibon hood = $1000 painted. Ricey? I think not, seeing as if any of you were to look at my build thread you would see all of the pictures of the hood before it was painted and the fact that I am going to be turboing my car (already have the kit, waiting for warmer weather to install) so the scoop and vents are again, fully functional.

Anyyywwaayyys with all of that out of the way. I am MORE than happy to prove all of you wrong. If you want to see the build thread with pics of everthing, go here:

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/08...-progress.html

And I quote:

"Mods are as follows:
Dash mounted PSP w/ GPS (highly recommend for anyone who skipped the Rockford Fosgate Navi unit)
Injen SES full Cat-Back exhaust - sounds sweet!
WORKS Throw Short Shifter - Feels amazing
Waxed with the Turtle
Sprint booster
HID's
TEIN Basic Coilovers
Progress rear swar bar
Ralliart front
Sidemount plate
Custom Turbo Kit (Evo X and Ralliart parts)
Evo X MR BBS
SEIBON OEM Style CF Hood
Evo VIII Wing
Vortex Generator
Falken 452's 18/40/235"

Now, for the fun part. Since everyone here doubts that it's real. I backed my car out into the nice sunny weather and took my brothers D80 out for some pictures of the car:

This is before the hood was painted to save you the hassle of going through my build thread:

This is todays sunny weather:

ANNNDDD! Just wait! There's more! I made a video, juuusttttt in case anyone else calls me a liar:

Is it possible that Seibon products aren't all garbage? I'm completely satisfied with my hood, it's great. I've seen many great fitting products they have made and that's why I bought my hood. I'm really pretty upset to see this community doubting my posts though, why would I lie over something so stupid?

And please understand that I'm not trying to start an argument with anyone in this thread. I'm simply showing that people have different experiences, and opinions and for me, its nothing but positive, I have a great fitting and looking hood. But I have to admit, the metal and cf bending comment made me chuckle.

In my experience, Seibon CF gets cloudy relatively quickly.

Ok I stand corrected. Sorry I doubted you. However I do have one question... WHY? The CF hood is $2400 bucks plus paint Im guessing 500? for that price diff you could have almost bought a Raliart? Also the factory alum hood is only $780 bucks.

The hood only cost me 600 bucks and the paint was 400. The factory hood I was quoted for 2000 for the hood, 2 vents and the scoop

For the guys who are doubting Carvs' hood is really carbon fiber... I can vouch for him. I saw his hood today... and it is indeed carbon fiber!!!

Even me when I was standing infront of his car was like... "Uhh... is this really carbon fiber?" Because the paint job made it look like a regular metal hood... and even when I knocked on it it "sounded" like metal in my opinion too. But once he opened the hood...it was obvious it was carbon fiber.

So... carvs is telling the truth!

That's cause like 70% of it is fiber glass

Hey, I'll admit, that does look great. Just not my experience with Seibon. I've yet to see a Seibon product in person that I can recommend.
