I was thinking of doing the same thing since summer is coming up and I wanna go wingless aswell. After doing some research it seems like there are a few options depending on how much you want to spend.

First there is the obvious way of taking it to a body shop and having them bondo the holes and repaint the trunk, however this will be few hundred bucks.

The second less expensive option that I have found is to just use pieces of vinyl that are matched to your cars color. Another way is to wrap the whole trunk in carbon fiber overlay since it doesn't have too many sharp edges or corners, if you are comfortable with this, it's another option.

And the last thing is to just buy a lancer trunk or and mr-t/se trunk, which is what I will most likely be doing.

First i used vinyl circles to cover them up, but went to ACE and got some black plugs like the body pins but smooth and they work great.

Did you just put the vinyl over the plugs so they don't stand out or just paint the plugs white?

the plugs option is ok. but the spray paint comes off if you use the high pressure car washes.

im just going to have a body shop close up the holes this spring with all of the other little scratches.

I would like to do this as well but thought about posting for an even trade. There has to be lancer guys out there that would like our wing.

IMO I don't think covering the holes will look good and taking it to a body shop might end up costing too much.

If you have a WW you are in luck...PM me your mail address and I'll mail you some precut vinyl. I had plugged the holes on my car "temporary" but it held up well over a couple of years through rain and shine, numerous auto car washes etc. But, the proper way to fix the holes is to take it to a body shop that will put solder or welding in the holes and re-spray it.

I just leave them black they don't look that bad, you only notice when u walk up to the car but other wise there pretty invisible from 30 ft or more.

I just used vinyl that was a close match to my trunk. Try finding a local vinyl sticker guy, I did that and he just gave me a small sheet for free.

you said it was temporary. so just put down a few pieces of blue painters tape with some electrical tape over the top of that.

That will keep the water out for a week or so. If you need another week, then remove and re-apply.

Yup. Get a small punch that can punch 3/4" holes from your local scrapbooking store and you are in business.
