get into HPDE's. They do wonders for training you to use your vision and detect things in your periphery. I was skeptical about that at first, but now i can read signs without looking at them and stuff. its kinda freaky, but it really works! I've been seeing deer way in the distance in the past year or so, while previously i never noticed them until i was right up on them.

Quote: 2 deer in 5 months.

The first one hit me back in October when my car was only 2 weeks old. My original post is here.

I hit the second one tonight. I was driving the speed limit at 45mph (really) on a 2 lane country road. This juvenile deer jumps out of the woods from the right and darts across the street. I stand on the brakes - the Brembos are amazing, but not a amazing enough and I still "tap" the deer. It stumbles but manages to get going again. From the impact, I'm hoping the damage, if any, is minimal. So, being 4 miles from home, I decide to continue driving instead of stopping and inspecting it.

I get home, park in the garage half-way and inspect the car. My bumper has a 4-5 inch crack between the driver's headlamp and grill. Argh. The good news is that there is no other damage. The bumper is even still aligned.

So, questions for you guys:
1) Do you know of anyone selling a mint WW, non-aero bumper?
2) How much would a new bumper plus painting cost? I'm going for an estimate tomorrow so I'll find out then. I would still appreciate your insight for reference.
3) Should I go Carbon Fiber? Is one even available? I checked RexSpeed and they don't make one.

PS
No, I do not hunt. I have no idea why they are targeting me.
dang no luck... sorry to hear about this man

Excellent advice! I actually have 50+ HPDE days under my belt. I agree that my "experience" helped and without it, it could've been worse. It happened on a 2-lane country road with no shoulder and woods on both sides. The deer jumped from the trees onto the road. There was no seeing it until that moment.
