Will this void the warranty?
I recently bought my X a couple weeks ago. Long story short I ended up getting the super-ultra warranty for 7 years or 100,000 miles. Might not have been the best choice looking back at it, but it happened.(was kinda rushed)
I was wondering if anyone knew if getting an Akrapovic exhaust would void a warranty? I only ask because I'm at school and the car, dealer, other stuff are back at home.
Thanks!

There are about 9000 posts on warranty voiding and mods and such. I would do some searching. There are laws too, that protect you, stipulating that the dealer that denies warranty due to a mod needs to be able to show how the mod caused the part to fail. That said, trying to fight with dealers on a warranty item can become a huge pain in your *** quickly and, from what I understand, Mitsu and warranty claims are not usually too flexible. Personally, I would take the bet that the exhaust wouldn't cause you problems. You might just call the dealer and ask them for some perspective. My personal experience has been, if you bought the car from them and you bought the extra warranty you have given them some good profit, if they service it as well, simple mods like an exhaust aren't too much of a problem. Depends on a bunch of factors though. Good luck.
It depends on the dealer really. The dealership I use has no problem with light mods (exhaust, intake etc.) but you'll have to checkwith yours to be sure. It's a fine line really, a dealership can't just void your warranty for no reason but if your mods are the cause of any potential problem then don't expect warranty coverage.
Sorry, can't speak to your specific question, basically my dealer was iffy when I talked to them about doing anything :-(.
On a different note a quick comment is that normally you have a period of time after you buy the warranty to cancel it and get a refund (normally 100% refund). I only mention this because you said that you thought it might be a mistake in getting the warranty.
I hope you enjoy the new car, I know I am loving my new SE.

I also had the extended warranty. I went back to the dealer and got a refund. Of course they don't give you the FULL amount but they give you a prorated refund, like mentioned above. I still got like $1000 bucks. But you don't get a check or anything. They just take it off what you still owe on the car.
Just to keep in mind... The extended warranty isn't from
. It's another insurance/warranty company. They may have different rules about the catback. But yes if you put a catback on your car and your engine blows up
will try to void your warranty, but I don't know how that effects the extended warranty plan.

IF you are within 30 DAYS, you should get a 100% refund, minus maybe a small service charge.
MOST LIKELY, your policy is with a 3rd party, NOT MITSU, and NOT your dealer. The policy probably EXCLUDES wear related items. Something that can be applied pretty broadly to avoid paying for repairs in the future.
I bot such a policy on the spur of the moment (I won't give all the reasons why, but it was a sales pitch that couldn't be confirmed in writing after the sale). After doing further homework, I returned it for a full refund.
I suspect you should do the same.

Like he said, do a search and you will soon learn that the Mitsu warranty is crap. I have read post after post after post after post................ about people having sent in there Evo for a warranty issue and the dealership basically holding on to the car for some extended period of time leaving the person w/o a car and then getting it back and Mitsu telling them "Tuff luck" and a nice pat on the back and sending them out the door. Even a good tune voids the warranty which almost everyone should get cause it improve gas millage and power. So yeah get a refund, you will soon learn that all you want to do is add more and more mods. It's too easy to unlock power in these compared to the cost.

because of the nightmare i have every time i step foot in their service dept. My evo was bought brand new and its bone stock and they still will not fix it lol....so yea try to get a refund and good luck! p.s. i know its sad to say but i go to a
and subaru service center and the manager told me "If you had an STI with the same problem i could help you but Mitsubishi is a bunch of scum****" then he proceeded to show me all the voided evo x warranty claims on his computer (not what i wanted to here after paying 35k for a car)
I've actually had pleasant experiences with mitsu warranty. i took my X to totowa mitsu right off of rt 46 in NJ to change out my transfer case (had a really bad leak) and they changed it no questions asked! and when i took the car in i had an hks hi power, intake, piping, AP. I'm still on warranty today
You DEF got ripped off buying the 7 year extended lol when the finance guy was going over the deal he gave me the "turbo cars are very expensive" speech that was going to add another $7k!!!!! i just laughed in his face and told him it wasn't worth it for me because my car wasn't going to stay stock for long. I've dealt with dealerships and finance directors plenty of times. i know they can be pushy, but next time just know YOU'RE THE BOSS.
