Unhappy ETS Intercooler question

I just finished installing the ETS 4'' core on my evo x, i went for a test drive and there is a weird sound coming from the engine bay!! Installation was a breeze but when i went for a drive it seemed like every time i started to build boost it starts to sound like either a huge intake suction noise or a sound that resembles air escaping through one of the silicone couplers... It's my first intercooler so i just dont know if its SUPPOSED to do that since its a bigger core or if something is wrong i know i tightened the couplers but if anything i think that might be it... Can anyone share any input? has anyone encountered any issues with installation? or heard any different sounds after installing? thanks for the guys.

Sounds like maybe you didn't attach all of your couplers tight enough when you re-installed them. I would do a boost leak test to be sure.

EDIT : If you don't have a boost leak tester or even know what one is, just take some water and mix it with a bit of soap and pour that water wherever you think the leak might be coming from OR everywhere like I would, just to have peace of mind. : )

definitely sounds like it is a coupler issue... i had that same exact sound on my STi. Check all coupler locations.

Your boost should hold more constant as well. Glad you figured it out!
