need help choosing which color
need help choosing which color
im in a bit of a situation here. i cant decide if i want to get a 2011 gsr ob or ww. the ob is a base model with no options. is the ss option really that much of a difference besides the sound system(not too worried about that) and the hids. the ob is also about 2500 cheaper than the ww one would be. im thinking i could just buy some hids to replace the halogen lights. the ww has the ss package only. i need some opinions! lol im thinking i will get tired of the blue w black rims after a while. if i did the ww i would get some bronze rims. ive been going back and forth all day about this.
If you want HIDs just buy the car that has them. Properly installing HIDs isn't that cheap. Evo HIDs have additional features like manual leveling, adaptive lighting around corners, etc., which you might not get with an aftermarket setup.

I went OB and have no regrets. WW is the most common color for Evos (and with good reason, it looks great). White also seems to be the 'hot trend' color lately for cars in general.

The SS package is worth it. HIDs, RF sound system. I think from the from the factory the HIDs cost around $1k along with the price of the system, which I like. Plus if you would upgrade the non-RF system down the road it'd be a pain.
I've always wanted OB, every car I've ever owned I wanted that blue color, but have never found it.
WW looks awesome when clean
tough call man. You will enjoy it either way you go. Best of luck.

As for the OP, go with WW with the SSS package. It's worth the extra costs just for the HIDs.
I would still recommend going with an OEM factory installed HID package.
Either color is awesome, no bias here on the OB. I wanted WW originally but OB fell in my lap at the right price. I'd imagine the WW is way harder to keep clean though, so choose wisely based on your driving environment and how concerned you are with the car's road appeal. I like a clean car but live in the city, OB was the answer. If I still lived in suburbia I would have settled for none other than WW.
With regard to the SS, if there is one thing I miss from my previous car, it is the sound system. Audio shifted down on my list of "must-have" items when it came to buying new but the factory HID / projector setup is a great feature I was hoping for. As was stated by highlyevolved, you can't match the factory lighting setup. Improved night visibility, a stellar look and the manual leveling make a winner in my book.

Get the white one. I wanted a white one but all they had for sale used was the red one that I have now when I was shopping, but I wanted a MR so red was my choice. White is the best to mod with exterior looks.
