Have to sell the GTR...its a money thing.... but I think the best car is an evo... does everything.... anyhow its a 2010 GSR (wanted the stick because I'm tired of paddles in the GTR, not that I dont like paddles, just a bit tired of it...when I buy a Ferrari in 10 years haha, I'll be fine with paddles)... Anyhow, so chose 2010 because it has bluetooth and color LCD and a few interior upgrades (shiftboot, some trim etc)....

It has 12k miles... its exactly what I wanted... Phantom Black (love the color and hides the vents), has the small spoiler (like it over the tall or none), and no aero pkg (wanted to stay inconspicuous). It also has Nav which is a great nav system btw)..I am really happy because 99% of the people will just think its a Lancer. Not that I wanna be a sleeper or whatever but to not get any attention from cops or kids trying to race... (im 31 now)... and one thing I hated about my GTR is the attention.

I will be using it daily for now... the GF is driving the 2010 VW Gti now... which was the prior daily... (great daily fun car)...

I plan to autoX and road race (HPDE and time trials) with SCCA and want to rallycross as well, but may wait until next season (paint and all)

I was planning on finding a 2006 Evo 9 MR... but I think the evoX needs to be a daily for me.... plus I want AYC (a little oversteer is nice)

 

congrats on the purchase, you might be the only one who likes the small wing instead of the tall one or wingless!

coming out of a gtr, I think you'll be very happy with the x. kids are going to try to race you regardless (I swear it's the brembos and FMIC). Although for a DD I wouldn't be suprised if you start to miss the paddle shifters...

 

What's your impression of the difference between the handling in the 2? The feel and what not?

 

Hard to say "congrats" to a guy stepping from a GTR to an Evo, but solid choice none the less.

Looks like you came from an VIII, I'd be curious to hear how you think they compare.

 

I haven't had much time to compare... But I was a vendor here for a bit.. Selling evo x's so I know them well... I loved the evo 8, it was more raw... If I had a nice daily sedan and an evo 8 then that'd be great... But I just wanted one car so the X is a good blend.

From the GTR to the X? The GTR is unflappable... (although prone to snap lift off oversteer)... The X sits right in the middle of agility between the GTR and a evo 8/9... A good place to be for me right now...

 

Funny, not to high jack but I have been thinking about a GTR saw one close by with like 8K miles for 63K. Thought that sounded like a good price, but I don't really know the market that well.

Grats on the EVO, when you start looking at comparable cars for everything the EVO X has, bang for the buck, it's really hard to beat.
