would you buy this car for $21,500

has 25K miles
two guages on steering column that aren't hooked up so dont work
tire pressure light stays on. guy says it will always stay on because of wheels not having pressure sensors or something like that.
Intake is supposedly only mod.
Lien on car which I would pay at chase bank and get lien release sent to me.
guys cell phone is Las Vegas # which makes me nervous, but met him at his supposed house to look at car.
clean car fax

whataya think?

I would not touch it without a leak down and compression test.

I drove it for about 15 mins in traffic and on highway and

it seemed to run perfectly. hard to get a leakdown and compression done under my circumstances. would I have noticed something wrong in the test drive if there was a problem or can they be that hard to detect?

Seems to cheap for an X. He has the price cheap for one reason or another. I'd find out what that reason is. He will probably lie to you if there is something wrong with the car. 21,500 is way to cheap for a X with only 25k miles thats in good condition.

other than a nice wash/detail, it doesnt look bad and that is pretty cheap for only 25K on the odometer

title has lien from chase bank which I would go to bank and pay and deduct from price of car and give guy the remaining. then the bank would send me the lean release letter. supposedly I can register the car in the mean time with the lean on it, and drive it, then the lien release will come and I can send out for a clean title.

get the ecu scanned for any engine codes, just cause the light aint on now, doesnt mean its not throwing a code, he coulde have reset it/cleared right before you came to look at it, autozone/advanced all do this for free if you dont have a scanner

If it drives fine, take it. You have lots of head room if anything goes wrong. Worst case, replacing the engine which cost about 5000 or less.

That sounds VERY cheap. And yea the TPMS light is usually on when other people have aftermarket wheels because they don't run the sensors.
