Exclamation PROBLEM with CLIMATE / HVAC CONTROLS

Hey guys. I have a 2010 SE with about 5k miles on it. Anyway, I've noticed for a while that the climate control dial does not correspond to where the air actually blows. When it's directed to the regular (upper body) vents, it seems to blow more on the lower area and the windshield area.

Any ideas? I had an aftermarket radio installed. Would this have caused the problem?

A service rep at a dealer mentioned there was a TSB. I have no other info other than that. But, here is what I can tell you: at the first sign of trouble I won't hesitate and take it to the dealer.

One silly possibility is that the knob is simply put on "askew" from original position.

I checked this, but it isn't the case. You cannot turn it further to the left to actually get it to hit the upper vents exclusively.

Ok, so my car was at the dealer for 2 1/2 days. The problem is the plastic partition warped from the heat, and no longer blocked/flowed to the correct ducts. The dealer said they shaved it down to fix it.

To be honest, I'm a little confused about the fix, but it works as it should for the time being.

I also want to congratulate Mike Ko, founder of Tristate Evo for becoming sales manager at Rt.46 Mitsubishi in Totowa, NJ. He was a big help being a liason with service.
