Going to go look at this 08 MR today, tips?
Hi all,
I've been thinking about jumping into a MR for a while now and since this just popped up near my house I'm going to go check it out.

Anything specific I should look for when I go inspect it? The carfax says it was listed as a dealership car at 31,698 then sold at an auction at 35K. Should that raise any flags? Sorry for the noobness, I'm just trying to make sure I'm getting into a legitimate car. Thanks for any info!

I'm sure it picked up some miles in the auction transition process. My dad was a dealer and used to daily drive some of his auction-bought cars before selling. That's perfectly legitimate as long as the dealer is insured to do so.
Make sure to check the filter for the transmission. I've heard from some local MR guys that they are black after like 10k.
Otherwise, it looks like a nice car. Obviously, I'd negotiate that price a bit, looks like you have some room to do so.

Looks decent. All I see in the way of aftermarket is an open air filter and boost gauge. If you get it be sure to change the transmission fluid and filter, transfer case fluid, and rear differential fluids ASAP.
Looks good just from a visual inspection. It just looks like the person bought it, put on a filter and a boost guage. Can't really tell from here, but the tires look like they could be bald so see if you can knock some more off the asking price. A lot of Evo owners buy the car and realize later down the road just how much the cost of maintenance is on these things when it's too late. My suggestion is to test drive it and see if you like it
Thanks for the tips guys
Coming from an 04 E55 I am no stranger to high maintenance costs
It's unbelievable how much Merc marks up parts and dealing with their service departments is always a nightmare
