If the new 2011 GSR is honestly running 106mph in the 1/4, that puts it right up there with the fastest stock IXs back in the day. That is very impressive. Yet, I'm not sure if I believe it. R&T is notorious for having overbloated times and trap speeds.

Either way, the 2011 is much faster than the 2008 because of the much better factory tune. Good news for all the new owners

i dont remember any ixs ever breaking 105 in the 1/4 mile trap..

the 2011 x's have to be like 330-350hp crank to be trapping that

Wont that make my car faster?

If those trap speeds and 1/4 mile times are accurate than that is quite impressive. I have been in a 2011 GSR and it didn't feel that quick to me.

Oh don't worry, there will be many, many mods

That must be just you. I have at least two car test in which the Evo IX tested 106 MPH, look at edmunds .com

I have the same question. Why not to get a reflash for the 2011?

Apparently you cannot. The 2011's do have different tunes as well. My car did put down good power but did make more with a tune. In the end, all years are equal when modded the same.

Cobb isn't saying don't flash or tune a 2011, but not to flash their 2010 maps to the 2011. XMLs are different as well, probably a warning that there would be a problem.

correct me if i'm wrong, but i believe the ECU's are different in the 2008/2010's and the 2011's.

I believe there were a couple of mags back in the day that got 105-106mph trap speeds.

There are a bunch of owners on EvoM who trapped 106 in their IX. I trapped 105 in my IX consistently. I'll admit, it's not every IX that will trap 106 - they may have been factory freaks - but it has been done.

Maybe this 2011 GSR was a factory freak to be able to trap 106? That's 2mph faster than the SE trapped.
