That's the problem some people over tint and that's where you get into legallity issues. Case in point this thread is a perfect example. Tinting isn't bad but there is a limit other wise they'll just end up being 'that guy'....
this happened to one of my friend. except it was vinyl. after the accident the tow truck guy told my friend to take the vinyl off because its possible for him to lose the battle with insurance if they see the tinting tail light.
Personally, I like the look of a clean tinted tail light, however; it is often played out and overdone.
While I suppose I'd side with the guy who rear-ended the Evo, a moderate to light tint on the tail lights really should have no effect on a driver to see the lights. Even in broad daylight with direct sun. People should honestly have better situational awareness anyway.
