glad to hear they eventually covered it. Your Extended Warranty should be through either the dealer you bought the car from, or a 3rd party that your dealer uses. There should be something for it with all your original purchase paperwork

What???? I am flabergasted that mitsubishi would deny any legit claims...
But seriously, hope nobody in the NY area doesnt have issues like these or you are F*cked... from personal experience the district manager is a piece of ****... he'll deny legit claims much less any borderline stuff

Mine failed at 24k. Got it covered with no problems but then again my dealer rocks for modded EVO's.

yeah, you will get a warning screen that pops up and wont go away. Its a pictured of four wheels and it says service required.

Awesome. I am crossing my fingers that mine doesn't have this issue. I do live in warmer weather so I hope I will be ok.

Angry

My 4wd service required light popped on & stayed on a week ago. I just got it back from the dealer & they said my awc pump is gone too. @ 31,000 kms in the middle of summer! My car is 2 years old & thankfully, still under warranty. I can't believe I am only hearing about this pump issue now. So, it seems like the pump will have to be replaced every 30,000 kms or so. This part is not cheap. I figure the next time it goes, I will be flipping the bill. Not happy about that. I am not willing to dish out an xtra $3000 every 30,000 kms or so due to a faulty part/design.

My 4wd service light has lit up for about 3 weeks. Obviously the car doesnt drive right when lit.
The question I have- is it always the pump that is shot? or ecu module possibly or relays?

Is there another thread documenting other members problems?

Mine started acting up after my first Autocross with the car at Devens- first time on Hoosiers...

Last weekend at Peru, ran the car in RWD - open diff mode- wasnt pretty, need to get this fixed but I think I am out of warranty, seeing how the car is modified.

Any suggestions on where to look first or properly diagnose what is defective?

As far as i know, the only way to be sure if its the awc pump is to scan for the code. As for warranty, depends on your dealer & level of mods. My dealer knows my car is clearly modded & they say i am covered under warranty.
