First mods for my X

Hey everybody,

Im finally got my new evo x run in (5000km) and am ready to order some mods. I have decided on the following;

1. AMS UICP
2. AMS LICP
3. AMS cold air intake
4. Full TBE (Not sure what make just yet, suggestions would be great)
5. Cobb AP

For the exhaust I really wanted to go for the full titanium Akrapovik exhaust however, it is extremely expensive so if any1 could recommend another titanium exhaust that would much appreciated otherwise ill have to wait a few months before i can order the Akropovik.

Any other suggestions while doing these mods would be great.

Also will my car be fine to run the stage 2 map pre-loaded on the Cobb Ap or is it better to get it custom tuned?

Thanks alot guys cant wait to get my parts!

Thanks, I really wanted to get the best parts possible and get it all done at once. You know they say, spend smart - spend once. And AMS definitely seems the way to go. I'll definitely have a look into the tomei exhaust, never really considered single tip but if it's a good system then have to check it out. Thanks for your input any ideas about the tune? Basic Cobb loaded map or custom tune?

Thanks again

Everyone here will say a custom tune will be better. And since you seem like the "if you're gonna do it, do it right" kinda guy, you'll probably want the custom tune.

Thanks very much for your input. Custom tune it is then lol your completely right about 'do it right' thing. It's an expensive hobby so I'm not risking buying low budget and inevitably low quality parts and ending up having to replace them.

The tomei is nice but extremely loud. Just something to keep in mind..

I say just save up for the akropovik, get a custom tune and an AMS intercooler.

Nice list! I could be wrong but the licp from what I've been told doesn't do much for you. Maybe you can use the extra $$$ for something else. Anyway goodluck on whichever route you decide

My Tomei exhaust is not that loud. Especially with the silencer on. akropovik is a very nice exhaust but I'd rather spend the money on other go fast parts than drop 3-4k on an exhaust. IMO. GL with your car and enjoy modding!

Thanks for all the replies, the car is my dd so I want something that is only loud when u want it to be i.e foot down, think the akrapovik pulls that off nicely but it is alot of money to spend on an exhaust but I kinda think it's an exhaust that I wud never want to change an shud just go for it. But I'll check out the tomei for sure and it's availability for where I live.

In regards to the ams intercooler I've been told by my local 'stealership' that it would void my warranty but what I have listed above is fine and they are happy to fit them for me. They also said they wud tune it too but I think I'll take it elsewhere for that one!

On a side note, I know on paper these parts make a substantial difference does any1 have a rough idea of what to expect? Whp an tq wise? Also my car is a 2009 model I don't think the stock map was very good on that one so shud I expect alot?

Thanks again guys

depends on tuning u can make 350 easy. but thats also with a high boost.

as for exhaust, from my experience, after goin thru a few of them. i found out that spending more for the one u want will save u more money in the long run rather than settling for one that u did'nt really like but was easy on the wallet. like others said, doo it right the first time. i personally felt the stock 2011 exhaust was perfect. not too loud, and cud prolly just use a CAI for an extra growl. i jus personally dread drone, and u will get that with any aftermarket exhaust.

look into the buschur cross flow exhaust, no drone at all, sounds like stock when cruising, db lvl's are even the same
