Swapping trannys?

was thinking about this the other day. If my sst took a dump and south coast mitsubishi weren't going to fix it for whatever reason. would it just be sensible to grab a parted out gsr tranny and swap it? has anyone done this? what parts would i need besides the tranny? Any input would be appreciated. thanks

i think i read this somewhere here or on another forum, and its not worth the actual price. I think the sum from a shop was 8g's.

you'd need, a trans, clutch/flywheel, probably a gsr mstr cyl, clutch lines, pedal assembly, maybe ecu, maybe trans mount and drive shaft?
