1st gear halfway into gate lockout from dead stop & shifter bracket
I have :
-WORKS "Throw" Short Shifter
-WORKS Urethane Console Bushings
-WORKS Urethane Cable Bushings
-Redline Cocktail Tranny Fluids (2 MTL and 1 MT-90)
-AMS 5 Speed Gate Selector Bushing Kit
Problem is like 30% of the time I can only go halfway into the gate of first gear from a DEAD stop. Only happens in first. Clutch is fully pressed in 100% certain because I've been meticulously monitoring it. Other 70% of the time it goes into gear without a problem. I let my friend drive the car and he said the shifting is very hard overall (my opinion is it is super crisp with no extra movement play). I've gotten use to it. I did some research and figure it is possible the cable bracket needs to be re-adjusted. What do you think? I decided to go with this setup to improve winter driving which it has drastically from the stock setup. The clutch is also grabbing and holding fine if that helps.
Some people say this isn't a fix for trouble entering a gear, but when sum1 who was getting locked out of reverse did this little trick, no more issues. I wonder if it will help.
Not a super big deal because taking it out and putting it in fixes the issue, but eventually I want to fix it.
