True story. A buddy of mine was sitting in a parking lot waiting for his girlfriend to get off work when a guy pulled into the parking spot next to him. The guy opened his door and hit my buddy's passenger side door. My buddy gets out and sees that the man put a small dent in his car. My buddy tells the guy and the guy just shrugs his shoulders and says "It's just a car."

My buddy pulls out a knife and punches a hole into the driver's side door of the guys car. The guy starts freaking out. My buddy looks at him and says "It's just a car."

So a bit of an update. After looking at the car a bit more yesterday, I found two more dents. One above the drivers side/drivers door handle, and another on the drivers side rear quarter panel right above the rear wheel. The one above the rear wheel is dented in and missing some paint. Also, after looking at the large dent on the drivers door, you can see that the metal is stretched a good amount. Not going to be easily fixable I assume?

I will try to get some pics today.

I know I shouldn't dwell over this for too long, but I am just so pissed off. It appears to be intentional vandalism. It just sucks because I don't drive like an asshat or cut people off. I just enjoy my car. Occasional spirited pulls when entering on-ramps. That's about it.

Looking like with all the new damage found, I might have to just bite the bullet and go through insurance.

I have no idea how I didn't see all the other damage. I must have been distracted by the big dent. Haha.

Been in the Paint free Dent repair business for nearly a decade now. If the metal is stretched you will need a traditional body shop type of repair.(Grinding, shrinking metal, filling, primer, base, then clear coat, and blending) Any dents that are not really creased or stretched can be fixed paint free at like 1/5 a body shop repair price. Maybe like $120 to $150. Just make sure who ever fixes your car is not a hack....there are lots in this business.

Its almost like people just want to be asshats and they see that you have something nice and when you park out far it's almost like a magnet for bad things to happen.

Made it 2 whole months until this happened.

Sorry to hear this happened, seems like the farther I park from people the more dents I get..... No where is safe but then again can't just keep it in the garage, way too much fun to drive! Wish some people had more respect for other peoples things. I mean I don't care if it's an evo or a minivan next to me, I would never just whack it with my door.... Some people!

I feel for you especially since the same thing happened to my car when it was new and also outside of target. You'll get over it. It felt like the end of the world at first. Def go pdr if possible.

yah that sux. I have around 6 small dings on my passenger door. I swear it was the same a$$hole from work every time. Probably the same a$$hole who parked his F350's front end two inches from my front bumper one day. Little scrawny guy, too. I would really enjoy pounding on him. But violence is bad, mmmmkay?
On a side story: A friend at work has a CRX, one day after work he noticed "seat marks" on his hood as if two people had sat there, taking a break. He was furious!
Most people don't respect or understand cars!

think of it this way when you park far away you are making your car stand out that much more. It's like a bugzapper for douchbags at that point.

posted something similar ago a few months back. the worst is i had a chance to move it when i saw the minivan parked beside me. didnt want to look retarded to my friends having to move it so i said to myself "oh well if he was able to park beside me without incident (cuz i immediately looked) then he should be able to leave without as well, HUGE MISTAKE. as i was walking towards my car (even saw the van pull out) i could clearly see the rear passenger door with the ding. BASTARD!

Sounds more involved than the initial description. That sucks bud. Make sure insurance clearly marks the so your Carfax reflects this as vandalism and not collision!
