Exclamation Evo X Body Shop Paranoia

I know I'm not alone on this, has anyone else been paranoid or really negative/nervous when/if they've taken their Evo to a body shop? I'm in this boat and I'm becoming more nervous and anxious as the days go by. For those who haven't seen my original thread, it can be found here.

Long story short, I mistimed my reverse coming out of a parking spot next to those underground pillars and it ate my left side. You can see in the image that the HID was pushed into the grill, that's why there is a giant gap where my fender and bumper meet...or met anyway. To make things worse, the square shaped pillar had metal "guards" around the bottom. That's why it looks as bad as it does. If these pillars were just drywall I think it would have only been paint damage and minor dents.

Anyway, I'm so scared that the body shop I took it to is going to epicly fail at mounting the new OEM parts back on. It's my dads friends shop but they're not American, they're Armenian. If I get the car back I see one misplaced clip I'm going to be sad. If I see a gap, I might punch a baby. I read somewhere that the OEM front bumper comes with mesh separately and the black piece in the center bottom.

Just thought I'd share because going to work for 8 hours and not being able to let all this out is driving me insane.

That's how much I care about my . Except I damaged it in the first place...but not on purpose.

Yeah but as long as you take it to a reputatable shop your fine. I've gone to the same body shop for 12 years.

Yea if it is a reputable shop than it shouldn't be that big of a deal. They fix far worse things on cars. Stuff light headlights, bumpers, and other body parts on the Evo really aren't that different from other cars..

That's the thing, there are no reviews for this shop on the internet. It's some random place my dad knows. We've had our Tahoe and Civic done there and honestly I haven't noticed anything wrong after they came back. The other day my co-worker pointed out a flaw the Civic's bumper which got me extremely worried. It was a bit off, the right side pops out more than the left.

Name of the shop is A.G Auto Body Shop if anyone is wondering.

Ive been doing business with a local chain called Caliber Collision. I wouldnt think twice about giving them my X. I was more nervous about letting the local Mitsu dealership change my oil. Good luck, hope it turns out well for you.

American vs. Armenian whats that have to do with it.

As stated if they are reputable then you should be fine. Another thing is if this was through insurance then they have to warranty the work for as long as you own the car.

So if your not happy with the repair bring it back until it's right.

If your not happy with the work, as said above, just take her back till you are happy.

Don't get me wrong, I'm Armenian too. I just don't think they've dealt with Evo's let alone AN Evo...

Take it to a quality body shop that offers a 100% lifetime warranty on labor and paint. I personally use shops that seem to focus on high-end luxury and exotics.

Not that this matters or should even be a subject but since you brought it up...

if you are Armenian, and they are too, I would imagine they would take care of you.

Hell, all they really need to do is R&R panels or what ever and match paint. Not much of a science to a competent body shop.

And like Kracka, when I was hit in my Evo, I found the most expensive shop, with the most experience in matching paint. GL man.

If it ends up being a bad job I'll end up taking to another body shop to get it checked out and get it done properly.

don't worry about it, they do this for a living man. I know we love our cars, but to a bodyshop guy, its just sheet metal, paint and screws, nothing complicated at all.

Yeah, I'm the type to look for errors rather than ignore them. :/

They will mess the repair and they will ride in your evo bouncing of a rev limiter. Just accept it and go on ;-)
