What does this plug into?

I crashed my car at the track a month or 2 ago and I was putting it back together today and I can't for the life of me remember what this plugs into... or does it just hang there in the open and doesn't plug into anything? btw i'm talking about the round cylindrical part. or is it just a cap for the plug? my car is a 2011 gsr if that makes any difference...

yea i recently discoverd what it was on my SRT-10 Ram, it was attached to the headlight mount and i couldnt understand what it was. Then i lost the piece that holds it in the headlight mount so i moved it to a different spot and noticed my temp reading was like 15*C higher then ambient temps.

I made the mistake of unplugging mine the other day when i took off my bumper, now everytime i start the car the temp is WAY higher than it should be, especially if its in the sun. I think it tops out at 122 degrees since ive never seen it go above that. Once I get moving its fine after ~2mins.
