2012 evo x
The "ECO" light is already on some Mitsu models (e.g., Outlander Sport). To my knowledge, all it does is inform the driver if they are maximizing fuel efficiency. Much like a shift light, it serves no real purpose for people who know what they are doing.
Was at the dealer the other day to try and lease a base lancer and asked them whats the story with the evo when is the 2012 model coming out and the sales guy said, no more evo this is last one
Wrong. 2012 is going to be the last year. Sadly, people at Mitsu dealerships RARELY, if ever, know anything about an Evo.
If it is true.. There has to be a way to disable it. That is the way you launch a SST equipped car. Maybe if you take traction control all the way off it would disable that feature..

Don't think they've found a solution yet, though.

That's exactly what happened to me. I went to a dealership down the street and they said Mitsubishi wasn't making any 2012's and maybe even 2013's. Luckily I've been stalking this site like crazy and knew better. They immediately lost my business at that moment.
Went to another dealership about 3-4 weeks later, and they said they actually already have 2 on order (white and black of course). That guy was really knowledgeable about Evos, as he has one as well. I've been working with them on getting a '12 come Dec/early next year. Clearly they have my business now - honest salesmen, real car people, and the sales manager owns an Evo. Their about 40 minutes away from me, but in all honesty, its worth it.

If the new "lights" are the only addition to '12 models, and the lights are just additions to the information screen, replacing the ECU to a '12 model should probably add the same new features. Hopefully the cluster isn't changed.. so if you can find a wrecked '12 ecu, you can get the '12 features :P
Just a thought, though.
