Opinion on painting cf hoods

Do typically people normally buy CF Hood and have them painted to match the car and leave some CF accent or just leave the WHOLE CF as is?

Its a personal preference. I see more unpainted than painted. I plan to paint mine to match the car because I don't think it would look good on my car but they only sell the CF version of the hood I want.

ALL carbon yellows eventually, unless its garage kept then it yellows a little slower. Thats when I think alot of people decide to paint it. At least thats what I intend on doing.

A friend of mine had a blue civic, and painted the carbon hood with a clear coat that had blue pearl in it. Looked cool cuz you could see the carbon but had a blue shine to it in the light so it matched the car. Would help against the yellowing too i assume.

+1

if you decide to go with CF, you will have to take care of it as in waxing it all the time and keep it in the garage OR paint it.

I think it's fair to note in every thread that comes up about CF hoods that they are generally heavier than our Aluminium hoods.

But that being said. some colors can pull it off. some can't. I think it looks bad on a PB because it looks like one piece doesn't match. other colors it's obviously carbon fiber so it looks good. again... all in my own opinion.

Painted with some carbon accent FTW!!! Looks so much cleaner especially on WW there are way too many storm trooper X's out there. Some other cars pull of that look but personally I can't stand all the WW's with black vinyl roofs, black wheels and unpainted carbon hoods/trunks. In the end it's up to you since it's your car but you asked for opinions so here it is!

See I dont get why people buy CF hoods for our cars especially if it looks like the stock one and you end up painting it. Our stock hood weighs less and most people get CF hood either for weight savings or look. So painting a stock looking CF hood gets you neither, I would call it a ricer mod at this point.

After time CF will turn a yellowish color. When you paint the hood you don't just paint the entire CF hood. you leave it some accent.
