Injen Intake + UICP Combo (Polished version) and popo question

So I've been here for a good amount of time, but never got into modding. Well, I'm finally going to give in but I got a couple of problems. Every time I get pulled over, I get my hood popped (if I start modding, I'll hang my license plate with zipties lol) but nothing ever happens since I'm truly stock haha

Anyways, so not knowing much about modding and wanting to learn, I decided to start off with Intake, UCIP, and a exhaust system. And since I'm broke, I'll mainly be buying the stuff and once I have everything and money for a tune, I'll install it all at once.

Now I was wondering if I get my hood popped with the Injen combo (I believe this is CARB legal and it should come with the sticker if not request from injen), would I get problems with the popo? And what exhaust system would you guys recommend? I don't want something loud, a bit louder than stock is fine, more interested in the performance.

I'm trying not get tickets from popos here in san diego for modding (in case i get pulled over) and still gaining horsies.

I tried doing some research, but man I suck at the search function lol

btw is this a good deal?

PS: Sorry for being such a newb

intake and upperIC will gain you nothing, and your car will run like hell without a tune.
get a tune and you'll be good to go, just get the Cobb AP

I thought the only issues Cali. had with mods were things that affected emissions... I don't believe (unless it is in your city) it's illegal to mod. an intake or I/C pipe...

Any time a cop asks me to pop my hood or trunk, I ask them for a warrant. Then they get pissed off and leave me alone. On top of that, I use my phone to record the conversation and I have used the recording to get out of a ticket.

Looks good. I love injen products! Had them on my SRT4 and they were great! Post some pics up in this thread after the install!

Will do, but that might have to wait until next week as I'm busy this whole coming week.

I'm running that Injen kit with the Cobb AP on the 93 tune. Definitely gave my Evo a lot more go. Worth the money IMO.

Not true. I ran the Injen intake and UICP un-tuned for a day with wideband A/F installed and was not lean at all. Around 11:1 at WOT. Ran smooth.

0_0 Nice Ryan! Post these up on azawd too! (been following your thread on there)

And yeah, EvoX factory tune is insanely rich (see the threads about the excessive fuel being dropped out the exhaust under WOT).

I would stare at a cop like he had sprouted a second head if he asked me to pop the hood of my car. Even during the height of the FATF days in Northern California I never got that request.

Install pics looks nice, good work.
