For me I never heard of an Evo before, till one day I was at the dragstrip & I was on my Mustang I was line up with this nice Red looking car, he took off & never look back, he just start beating everybody. I talk to him & find out it was a Evo 8. I went home told my wife I want to get an Evo for my DD. 6 months later got me one...

First time I heard of an Evo was when my friend got one....I was like "what is that car?" haha

 

first time i heard of an EVO was the TOP Gear Ep when they were showing what the R34 could do and the R34 drive up from behind an evo and STI.

 

first time i time i saw was a evo III toy car my friend had and from that day on i loved evos

 

Embarrassing...but 2Fast2Furious. Bought an 03 Evo shortly after in Oct '03.

 

Lol honestly, that was the first time I can remember seeing an evo as well. The funny thing is though that the evo in the movie didn't make me want the car, I actually wanted the eclipse. Fast forward to August 2009 and that is when I got my car, 05 RR VIII RS with 46k miles on it.

On a side note, I actually saw the 2F2F evo (or one of the cars they made for the movie) sitting outside at Reese Tuning. You could tell it was one of the cars from the movie but man, it had to have seen better days. lol

I believe this was the movie that really introduced me to evos. They street tune the cars and race around the street/highway for street cred or something. I might just have to dl this and watch it again now. It is like the asian version of fast and furious.

I then saw evos again in jackie chans movies.

 

Need for Speed Underground ... ughh I was such a lame kid...

Linjy2, I will definitely check that movie out.

The chase scene on "who am I" by Jackie chan was badass, made me want one. I believe it was an evo v.
