evo x blown motor warranty being denied !!
Well whatever the case may be in this situation... I just have NEVER heard any good reviews from this dealership, and I regret ever purchasing a vehicle from these guys. Before you have signed the papers, they are nicer than your grandma and after that they don't want to deal with you and in my case calling me and my family liars directly to our faces.
This line here contradicts what every tuner in the world has said.
None the less, a very well written and eloquent rebuttal sir.
To the OP, I think you should just take the Manager's offer of helping you source out a new motor and end everything there. This is definately a pay to play lesson and there's no way you're going to get warrantied.
That's funny, same place I picked up my car and they did a similar thing with me. I bought the car brand new and they had promised me free oil changes for the entire ownership of the car. When I called them up they denied everything, even the person who I had spoken to and the manager were right there. I later contacted Mitsubishi Corporate and they called Route 46. After about a month of going back and forth they said that because I didn't have any paperwork to prove that they offered me this they couldn't do anything.
It is not extreme and I am not lieng. South Coast Mitsubishi had offers like this to anyone who had purchased an evo during their promotional period. Being aware of this I had not heard of any dealerships doing this on the east coast. When I went in to buy my car I had spoken with both Mike and Chris(who I later found out had left, or so I was told) and he had brought the free oil changes up. And like I said, later when I gave them a call about this they called me a liar, and denied ever having the conversation with 2 members of my family sitting right there and listening . As for having it written in black and white, I figured it was a reputable dealer with staff to match, which I quickly found out was far from that.
Well let me start this out by saying I just got out of the car buisness. From reading both sides, I believe the real problem started with the return of the 2006 evo mr. Iv have persoanlly been burned and let a car go out the door that was not fully financed and it bit me in the *** more than once. To me it seems like the dealership is upset they had to fix the evo that came back in. Moral of that story is dont let a customer take a car thats not approved from the bank.
Now as a buisness stand point why not put your feet in the customers shoes? Yes, he may or may not have had the car tuned and modified but it seems to me your pretty familur with the aftermarket aspect of owning an evo. Iv personally warrantied motors that customers have point blank told me they "didnt know they had to do oil changes"..... hahaha yeah word for word
. Anyway the point im getting at is, I can gaurentee you this little problem will hurt your pocket. Id say a great majority of memebers on here modifiy their cars, and who in their right mind would go to a dealership who sells modified cars but doesnt want to back them?
Iv taken my mistakes out on customers and tried to do everything I could possibly do to upset them because I needed someone to blame. Iv gotten upset at customers that cost me 1k in mistakes right after making a 5k profit on them the day before(yeah this is the stuff that made me get out of the buisness). At the end of the day this dumb situation isnt worth the negative press it brought. Make that money back on the customer you would have had if this was never posted. Just my 2 cents coming from someone that was in the car buisness for a very long time.

Three months ago, Mr. Flores attempted to purchase a 2006 Evo IX MR from us. Three days after taking possession of the original vehicle, we had to take it back, because the lending institution (only a few were available that would buy Mr. Flores) reverted their approval when he bounced two checks for the down payment.
With that being said, it seems to me that information related to Mr. Flores' finances would be strictly off-limits to a public forum.
Finance managers r basically glorified salesmen. They can talk u into hashing out more of ur money with their sweet talks and promises.....I know coz I have friends that r finance managers.
Anyways, like someone has said, if they promise u anything....anything at all...get it in writing. That's the only way they would comply to their promises. Funny thing is, that's what my friends they me to do when I do any major purchases.

I can honestly say that i did blow the motor on the vehicle ., its obvious . I was the one driving it of course . This was my first car ever. I dont know much about turbo cars but i do know it had the mods on it . I only added some wheels to the car, suspension, hood and trunk thats all . The rest was bought from the dealer that way . Thete were even two salesmen that day amping me up saying how i got a grrat amount of hp gains from the mods it came with. I was excited.
Now the whole dealer goes against me of course and denies it cause there all part of the same team . Of course yhere going to deny it . Its there job on the line. I know i would lie as well if it saved my job.
When i purchased this car , it was never serviced nor did it even have a price tag on it yet . I had to wait and wait to get a price for it . All the cars there had a 'serviced check' sticker on it. This one didnt. It had just came in when i decided to purchase. I have no pictures of under the car for proof but i do have witnesses. At the end of the say i end up losing but its okay cause now i know . I learn from my mistakes .
